A bus carrying migrant families was on the move once again early Wednesday, hours after being blocked by flag-toting protesters in Murrieta, California.
Residents and city leaders in Murrieta, including Mayor Alan Long, oppose the transfers, saying they are burdens on the town.
"This is a failure to enforce federal law at a federal level,” Long said in a statement posted on his Facebook page.
The buses were eventually rerouted to a border facility at San Ysidro where they were held into the early hours of Wednesday.

At least one of the buses left San Ysidro at 1.30 a.m. local time (4.30 a.m ET) for an unknown destination, NBC Los Angeles reported.
Activists chanted in support of the undocumented families outside the border post. “As a country we’re better than that," one supporter told NBC Los Angeles.
